MISSION & SCOPE:
The Sr. Revenue Analyst has responsibility for managing the wireless accounts receivable program involving commission calculations, reconciliations and the coordination of accounting and month-end related responsibilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring and protecting the company from financial losses resulting from inaccurate revenue entries and ensuring full timely collection of funds. Responsibilities also include managing the collection and reconciliation of wireless commissions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop contract analysis, calculate and journalize wireless/satellite accounts receivable.
•Develop analysis of monthly commissions, spiffs, co-op, MDF and other funds due by carrier and market & rate plans, including standard and promotional terms.
•Administer documentation of the same, keeping all contract/compensation files up to date and maintaining documented monthly/annual historical accounting records.
•Work with Wireless Merchants and Financial Analysts to ensure that everything that needs to be accrued for the month is complete.
•Develop, design and prepare month-end financial reporting related to wireless and satellite.
•Prepare monthly revenue earnings summaries by carrier and SKU.
•Prepare monthly carrier reconciliation files in the AR GL.
•Manage the dispute process per contract and reconcile sales records to carrier commissions statements.
•Oversee the compilation and presentation of all documentation substantiating disputes to wireless carriers.
•Posting wireless deactivations to Operations and following up on actions taken.
•Recommend corrective actions where necessary.
•Assist the Wholesale Wireless Manager as needed.
•Special projects, reports and analysis as needed.
•Assist the Wireless Merchants with Wireless Commissions.
•Facilitate process improvement and documentation.
•Month-end close processes, account analysis and review of account reconciliations.
•Quantitative: Works as a team with Accounting, Sales Audit, Store Operations and Wireless Merchandising team members. All company-related interactions and day-to-day responsibilities are expected to be performed in keeping with company guiding principles.
•Qualitative: This position has primary responsibility for analysis, accrual & reporting of all wireless accounts receivable. Performance will ensure the accurate posting and distribution of wireless revenues and minimize associated adjustments, accurate and timely financial reporting and accurate & timely reconciliations to carriers & the GL.
•BA in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent business experience.
•3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting.
•Experience in a high-volume accounting department.
•Familiarity with accounting principles and GAAP.
•Proven analytical experience and skill set.
•Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups etc.).
•Demonstrated ability to perform critical accounting tasks on schedule, accurately, with minimal supervision.
•Detail oriented with a priority of accuracy.
•Proven ability to balance and prioritize multiple goals and tasks.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational skills with a pro-active approach.
•Works well within a team-oriented environment, across different departments.
