    Mission and Scope

     

    The Lead Software Engineer is a seasoned software engineer with leadership skills and extensive knowledge and experience in designing and building complex, highly scalable and dependable application systems. The candidate will interact closely with project management, business analysts, test engineers and other software engineers to shape, identify, prioritize, and realize project requirements in the delivery of business solutions.

    Successful candidates will have a comprehensive knowledge of web front-end and back-end development tools, technologies, practices, and standards; proven ability to integrate large scale systems or third party products; and a track record of delivering high-quality, web-based business solutions in a timely and effective manner.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Guide, mentor and lead a team of software engineers
    • Customize, integrate, and support vendor-supplied software to support business users
    • Work in DevOps agile teams primarily in .NET and Azure technology environment
    • Follow established coding standards and other group procedures, both individually and at a team level. Must ensure proper code reviews are held for the project and that development processes and tool utilization are followed.
    • Contribute to the engineering team’s culture of high code quality. Accountable for the quality of code that is delivered to QA and production; must ensure that appropriate code reviews and unit testing are adequately performed.
    • Ensure that continuous integration is performed on the application source code and constantly seeks to enhance the continuous integration methods of the development team to ensure extremely high quality of code.
    • Work closely with project management and requirements analysts to thoroughly understand the system requirements and ensure they are properly implemented. Also must seek ways to meet the underlying business requirements with low-cost, yet highly re-usable patterns and actively escalate requirements that may cause unnecessary risk or cost.
    • Ensure that application code adheres to enterprise and industry standards and best practices, including performance and security standards.
    • Work with offshore developers to implement new features
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years of developing applications and customer-facing, ecommerce websites.
    • Working knowledge of the following technologies: C#.Net, SQL/Server, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, XSLT, PHP, PowerShell, SQL queries
    • Experience in implementing and supporting vendor-supplied software packages
    • Experienced in handling managed services engagements
    • Experienced in gathering and analyzing user requirements
    • Experienced in modern UI design
    • Skilled and experienced in leading technical teams
    • Ability to understand and discuss business issues as well as technical issues
    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills 
    • Self-motivated, persistent, results-oriented, enthusiastic, flexible 
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision, independently or as a member of a team
    • Confidence in situations with high ambiguity and uncertainty
    • Have a willingness to learn
    • Expert-level Object Oriented knowledge, with demonstrated complex implementations a must, e.g., custom API's, optimization techniques, and design patterns.
    • Must have practical experience developing and public cloud concepts and protocols, in particular Azure
    • Experience with DevOps tools and automation
    • Experience working in an iterative(agile/scrum) development environment
    • Experience in documenting design and architecture artifacts and presenting artifacts for architectural review

     

    Pluses:

    • Working knowledge of the following technologies: SSIS, VB.Net, MySQL, WordPress
    • Experience in customizing MS Dynamics AX applications using C++
    • Experience in configuring, customizing, and integrating Magento and Monsoon ecommerce platforms
    • Test-driven development and continuous integration experience is preferred
